Overview
Players and NPCs utilize the Store to trade and acquire components, materials, tools, data pads, and even pre-built grids like rovers and ships. (Only NPCs can sell pre-built grids.) They can be found on multiplayer bases or at NPC-owned Trading Outposts. They take space credits as payment.
The storage capacity of the store appears to be restricted to 1,000.00 L. The store requires electricity to run.
Buy and Sell
Left-click the display (or use the ‘F’ key while facing it). Buy and Sell are two tabs that display available offers and orders. You can only purchase products if they are available and you have sufficient space credits and inventory space.
Offers and orders
Install shop blocks in safe locations such as faction bases and space stations. If you invite another player, it is your responsibility to protect the location in a safe zone so that no other player can drop it. If you own a store block, or if a faction shares it, you can create offers and orders.
To make an offer, look at the display and press the “I” key to open the vending machine inventory. Make sure the items (components, materials, or consumables) you want to sell are in stock, transfer them to the machine’s inventory, and then close them.
Then left-click on the display (or press F towards the display) to go to the Administration tab.
- To list items for sale, select New List at the top, select an item from the list, enter the number of items sold as a unit, enter the selling price per unit, or the default Accept the price. Locks may impose additional listing and transaction fees on large quantities of merchandise. This screen allows you to create multiple offers and delete existing selected offers.
- To order the item you want to buy, select New Order above, select the item from the list, enter the number of items you want to buy, and enter the price you want to pay for preparation. Locks may impose additional listing and transaction fees on large quantities of merchandise. This screen allows you to create multiple orders and delete existing selected orders.
For example, selling “1 unit” means not selling individual steel sheets, but selling them in batches of 100 sheets.
Configure the block with the option. Go to the block and press the “K” key. In the control panel, select “Anyone can use” to decide whether to allow non-allied countries to trade as well. (Make sure you can arrive at the store alive.) You can also choose the colors, scripts, free-form text, or images to display. You don’t need a store script for the block to work, so you can also display customer messages, faction icons, and more.
An outstanding share! I've just forwarded this onto a coworker who had been conducting a little research on this. And…
